Versante Sud Monte Grappa Trail is a trail running guide where you will find 28 itineraries between the Grappa massif and the Brenta canal to be covered on foot, running, climbing from the plain, exploring its slopes, its gorges, its valleys and its peaks always up and down.
The itineraries, rings and traverses, can be run at any step, to retrace historical routes such as the Alta Via del Tabacco or that of the Heroes, or try your hand at racing routes such as the Trail degli Eroi or Sull’Orlo del Corlo, explore valleys hidden mountains or mountains mentioned in history books and discover extraordinary places and panoramas.
Grappa is not a difficult mountain, yet it is never trivial and always requires a cautious and respectful approach, not only because it is a natural environment and should always be treated as such, but above all because, although man-made, it is a mountain that is rough at times. and wild, never excessively crowded even in the summer months and on weekends of good weather. Overlooking the Venetian plain and circumscribed by the deep valleys of the Brenta, the Piave and the Val Belluna, which divides it from the Belluno Prealps and Cadore, the Grappa massif is unique in the panorama of the mountains of the Alps.
The author is Lorenzo Capitani, an experienced trail runner who has raced all over Europe. But it is on the Grappa that his love for trail met his other great passion, history and war stories: an indispensable combination for discovering a territory consciously. You feel at home on the Grappa massif and its paths.
